The changing world of headphones
I can still clearly recall the day when I realized that the pace of technological change had really picked up. Having returned from a year of backpacking round the world I was back in the big city and the modern world. As I took my seat on the bus I took out my faithful tape recorder, which I had bought in Brazil and which had served me so well though South America, and nosily opened the cassette door. As I rifled through my bag to find the most suitable cassette I felt someone staring at me. A cool Asian girl sitting across from me was holding something which I was later to discover was called an mp3 player (these had been available before I left but only really took off during my year out) and looking at me as though I had just arrived from my cave with a wooden club and a crudely chiseled flint axe.
Of course, more huge developments which have taken place since then, and iPhones, iPods, and Mp3 players have taken a firm grip on all of our lives. This means that we can now listen to our music much more easily and with a great deal more style than I was used to with my cassette player.
One thing which I have notice though is that many people sport a top of the range music device and rather less impressive headphones. If you are going to spend so much money on a quality machine then I think that the headphones really have to rise to the same sort of level.
Fortunately, there are a lot of headphones out there which offer a great fit, superb sound quality, and a lot of style too. Something like the Skullcandy ink’d earbuds purple unit will allow you to lose yourself in your music without losing any of your fashion sense. The real benefit to the new waves of quality headphones is the enhanced audio performance which they offer, of course, and the new generation of headphones and earbuds really do give a much better sound than even the big, chunky, so called professional headphones which used to be the only option for anyone looking for a truly enveloping sound experience.
