Ok, when you think comedy music, quite often that will pop up. I also wanted to mention that not only is his music funny, wacky, zany etc, if you think about the production quality and how well rehearsed his City Slickers/Wackateers, it's quite impressive!! With digital recording these days, you don't get that kind of "choreography". Plus gargling and harps? Brilliant!! I was listening to some Spike Jones recently. Thanks for getting the word out about comedy music. I write comedy music and I've had a hard time being taken seriously. People always tell me that I should write "real" songs. Or they accuse me of writing really great songs then ruining them with my lyrics. Anyway, I'm gravely serious about comedy and my comedy music is one of the most important things in my life. I run a website www.PrettySpecialRecords.com where I assume the roles of several different characters who all perform different genres of music. That way I can make fun of the eccentric personalities and cliches of each genre while also celebrating my love for music. Thanks!!!! I just found your blog.
